Ingredients

  • 1 kg Konafa
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups Bayara mixed unsalted nuts, toasted
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 Tbls Bayara cinnamon powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 lemon’s juice
  • 1 cup melted ghee
Method

Method

  1. Mix the chopped nuts with sugar and Bayara cinnamon.
  2. Grease a tray with some melted butter.
  3. Grease the Konafa strips with ghee and then add a layer of Konafa in the greased tray until the tray is completely covered.
  4. Add the nuts mixed with sugar and Bayara cinnamon in the middle of the tray and then add another layer of the well-greased Konafa strips until it covers the nuts completely.
  5. Place the Konafa in the oven at 170°C for 30 minutes and then turn on the grill for 10 minutes until it turns golden.
  6. Take it out of the oven and pour the syrup while it is hot until the Konafa absorbs the syrup, sprinkle some crushed nuts on top, and serve.
  7. In a saucepan over medium heat, add the water and sugar, bring to a boil, then add the lemon juice, and then let the mixture to boil over a low heat until the syrup becomes a little sticky.
